In a secluded residential area in Barangay Opao, Mandaue City lies Mama’s Little Secret Creative Burgers (MLSCB), a simple yet quirky burger shack that has already captured the hearts of its customers both online and offline. Join us as we honor the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our fellow Mandauehanons through Tatak Mandaue. They have also been supplying to different companies, schools, resellers, and marketplaces. Now, Lucia’s Native Products produces several variants of brooms and other household items which they display at their store in Plaridel Street, Paknaan, Mandaue City. The Silhig Festival has helped broom-makers and producers by drawing more customers to the barangay. They started by only producing silhig lanot. Lucia’s Native Products started producing their own silhig in 2011 in Paknaan. ![]() At that point, broom- making became one of the main sources of livelihood of most families in the barangay. Looking back, Barangay Paknaan used to have plenty of Buri Trees that residents used to make brooms, thus, paved the way to the rise of the broom-making industry in the barangay. ![]() ![]() Every first Saturday of February, Barangay Paknaan celebrates their Silhig Festival to promote their broom-making industry.
